Bank Expands Staff Welfare, Career Development and Leadership Opportunities
Fidelity Bank Plc has announced the promotion of 433 employees under its 2026 Promotion and Notch Award Exercise, representing approximately 13 per cent of the bank’s workforce.
The exercise underscores the financial institution’s commitment to rewarding employee performance, recognising excellence and strengthening a culture of professionalism and productivity.
According to the bank, the proportion of employees benefiting from the promotion exercise increased compared with previous years. In 2025, a total of 376 employees, representing 12 per cent of the workforce, were promoted, while 337 employees, or 11 per cent, received promotions in 2024.
The latest exercise reflects Fidelity Bank’s ongoing efforts to recognise staff contributions, enhance institutional capacity and develop a strong pipeline of future leaders.

Since Nneka Onyeali Ikpe assumed office as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, the bank has maintained annual promotion exercises aimed at rewarding outstanding performance and preparing employees for increased responsibilities.
Fidelity Bank Strengthens Employee Welfare
Beyond career advancement, Fidelity Bank has continued to implement initiatives focused on improving employee welfare, productivity and workplace satisfaction.
The bank disclosed that it increased salaries across various categories and grade levels in 2022, 2024 and 2025. It also introduced staff buses to support employees with commuting, improved medical support and expanded learning and development opportunities.
As part of its employee welfare initiatives, Fidelity Bank extended its mortgage loan and homeownership scheme to employees from the Assistant Banking Executive to Deputy Manager cadres.

The bank also increased applicable mortgage limits for eligible employees in response to prevailing market conditions. According to the institution, the initiative places it among the relatively few financial institutions providing mortgage support to employees below the managerial cadre.
Other programmes implemented by the bank include initiatives to promote employee engagement, teamwork, work-life balance, professional certifications and continuous skills development.
These measures form part of Fidelity Bank’s broader strategy to build a motivated, skilled and future-ready workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of the financial services industry.

Focus on Talent Development and Employee Retention
The bank’s promotion exercise is also aligned with its people strategy of attracting, developing, rewarding and retaining talented employees.
Through its recognition and reward programmes, Fidelity Bank seeks to encourage discipline, professionalism, innovation, customer-focused service and sustained performance among its workforce.
The institution said its investments in staff development and welfare have contributed to its reputation as an employer within Nigeria’s financial services sector.
