Fidelity Bank Partners CANEX WKND 2026 to Boost Nigeria’s Creative Economy

Fidelity Bank Plc has announced its sponsorship of the 2026 Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX WKND) as an Official Trade Partner, strengthening its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s creative industry and expanding business opportunities for creative entrepreneurs.
The four-day event will hold from November 5 to 8, 2026, at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, National Theatre Complex, Lagos, under the theme, “One People, United in Culture, Creating for the World.”
At the event, Fidelity Bank will showcase its Fidelity Creativerse initiative under the theme, “Where Creativity Meets Business Opportunity,” offering creative entrepreneurs access to banking solutions, payment services and business development opportunities.
The bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, said the creative economy plays an important role in driving enterprise, job creation, innovation and international trade.
She explained that the partnership reflects the bank’s commitment to helping creative entrepreneurs transform their talents into sustainable businesses capable of competing in local and international markets.
Onyeali-Ikpe will also speak at a session titled “Building the Capital Stack for Africa’s Creative Economy,” focusing on financing, infrastructure, skills development and market access for creative businesses.
Additionally, the bank will host a workshop, “Fueling Visions, Creating Impact,” on November 7 at 2:00 p.m., bringing together professionals across banking, filmmaking, photography, fashion, music and content creation.
The partnership builds on Fidelity Bank’s existing initiatives, including its Fidelity Nigeria International Trade and Creative Connect (FNITCC), Creativerse and Fidelity SME Hub, which provide training, business support and international market connections for Nigerian entrepreneurs.
CANEX WKND, an initiative of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), will feature exhibitions, performances, masterclasses, panel discussions and business networking sessions.
