Fidelity Bank Plc has extended its women-focused empowerment programme, “Give Her Power,” to Ikorodu, providing vocational tools to over 30 women to boost their businesses and household income.
The outreach, which marks the third phase of the initiative’s nationwide rollout, saw beneficiaries from Ikorodu Central, Ikorodu West, and Ikorodu North receive items including sewing and grinding machines to support their trades.
Representing the bank’s CEO, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Regional Bank Head Nnamdi Edekobi said the initiative is designed to deliver real, lasting impact. He noted that the programme goes beyond symbolic support by equipping women with tools to build sustainable livelihoods.
Also speaking, Meksley Nwagboh described the Ikorodu activation as a targeted effort to reach underserved women at the grassroots. He added that the programme will be expanded across the South-East, South-South, and Northern regions to ensure wider inclusion.
The “Give Her Power” initiative is anchored on the Bank’s HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme, which combines vocational training, mentorship, and access to business opportunities through partnerships with organisations such as Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing and others.
Before Ikorodu, the initiative was held in Abeokuta, where 100 women benefited from similar support at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena.
Community leaders, including Adedayo Ladega, attended the Ikorodu event, underscoring local support for the programme. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation, noting that the tools received would significantly improve their income and family welfare.
With continued expansion, Fidelity Bank Plc is positioning “Give Her Power” as a key driver of women’s economic empowerment and grassroots development across Nigeria.
