The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has begun enforcement actions on 1,095 property titles in Abuja that were revoked due to unpaid ground rent, Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills, Penalty/Violation fees, and Land Use Conversion charges.

The affected properties are located in the Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse districts of the Federal Capital City. Owners had ignored public notices issued between May and November 2025 through national newspapers, online platforms, and television channels, urging them to settle outstanding payments or risk losing their titles.

In a statement released Friday, FCTA emphasized that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, approved the commencement of enforcement actions against defaulters.

The notice stated:
“Despite multiple public warnings, the listed property holders have failed to comply with their financial obligations to the FCTA, including Ground Rent, C-of-O bills, Penalty/Violation fees, and Land Use Conversion fees. This contravenes Section 28, Subsections 5(a) and (b) of the Land Use Act and the terms of grant of the respective Rights of Occupancy.”

Following the expiration of the final 14-day grace period on November 25, 2025, the FCTA will enforce compliance on 835 properties for unpaid Ground Rent and 260 properties for unpaid Violation and Land Use Conversion fees.

The administration urged property owners to regularize their payments immediately to avoid legal action and permanent loss of their property titles.
