The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a notorious one-chance suspect connected to the abduction and killing of a 23-year-old fuel attendant, Miss Grace Godwin, in Abuja.
According to reports by security analyst Zagazola Makama, operatives of the Scorpion Squad, led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey, captured the suspect, 25-year-old Kabiru Abdullahi from Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, through advanced digital tracking and intelligence operations.
Investigations revealed that on July 11, 2025, Grace boarded a commercial vehicle operated by a one-chance gang. The suspects allegedly demanded ransom from her family but later killed her and dumped her body along Alex Ekwueme Street in Jabi, where it was discovered the following day.
During questioning, Abdullahi reportedly confessed to strangling the victim with a nylon bag after she bit his finger during a struggle. He told investigators that the gang decided to kill her for fear she could identify them, as they all lived in the same Dape community.
Abdullahi also mentioned his accomplice, 35-year-old Solomon Tanko, who had earlier been arrested on October 8, 2025, in Life Camp for another one-chance robbery and murder case.
Police confirmed that both suspects have admitted to the crime, and a gold-coloured Toyota Camry, identified as the vehicle used in the operation, has been recovered.
The FCT Commissioner of Police has ordered a comprehensive investigation to ensure that all individuals linked to the gang are brought to justice.
