FCT Police Arrest Armed Robbery Gang Linked to Murder of Abuja Entertainer DJ Bash

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended a notorious armed robbery gang accused of terrorizing communities across Abuja and its environs.
In a statement released on Monday, police spokesperson Josephine Adeh confirmed that the suspects were arrested during a series of coordinated operations carried out between September 3 and September 19.
Those arrested include Ibrahim Shaibu, also known as Baba Godes from Zaria, Kaduna State; Yusuf Salihu from Kagini, FCT; Awulu Nuhu, alias Zabi from Keita Local Government Area, Katsina State; and Usman Yerima, nicknamed Dangrugru from Jimeta LGA, Adamawa State.
Police investigations revealed that the suspects were responsible for the 2024 killing of Abuja’s popular entertainer, Bashir Dauda, widely known as DJ Bash.
During interrogation, the gang reportedly admitted to several violent crimes, including an armed robbery at Hillside Estate, Dawaki, and an attack on Volcano Peak Court Hotel in Gwarinpa, where hotel guests were robbed and DJ Bash was fatally shot.
According to Adeh, CCTV footage also confirmed the gang’s involvement in violent attacks across Gwarinpa and Dawaki, exposing their pattern of targeting unsuspecting residents.
The suspects further disclosed information about other members of the syndicate still at large. The FCT Police Command said efforts are ongoing to track and arrest the fleeing criminals
