Falz Denies Romantic Ties with Bobrisky, Says He Only Tried to Help Amid Defamation Suit

June 5, 2025 — Nigerian singer and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has publicly denied any romantic relationship with controversial crossdresser Bobrisky, amid ongoing legal proceedings with social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM).
The dispute began after VDM leaked a purported phone conversation between Falz and Bobrisky while Bobrisky was incarcerated. Following the leak, Falz filed a defamation lawsuit against VDM and his associates, accusing them of damaging his reputation.
In an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, Falz provided an update on the legal case, revealing that VDM’s defense has yet to be filed. He explained that the defendants had initially filed a preliminary objection questioning the court’s jurisdiction, but the court dismissed it, and now VDM must present a formal defense or risk a judgment against him.
Regarding his alleged relationship with Bobrisky, Falz clarified, “I never had any relationship with Bobrisky prior to that phone call. He reached out to me on Instagram seeking help during a difficult time. Like many others who contact me, I listened with compassion, but that was it.”
Falz added, “I only tried to help, not because it was a special case, but because I try to be compassionate. Unfortunately, this has led to widespread speculation and misunderstandings.”
He further reflected on the experience, saying, “After this, I may be more cautious about helping others in the future, but I won’t close the door on kindness altogether.”
