Arsenal have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their Premier League showdown with Liverpool, as striker Gabriel Jesus edges closer to a full return from a long-term knee injury.

The 28-year-old Brazilian forward suffered an ACL injury during Arsenal’s FA Cup third-round defeat to Manchester United in January and subsequently underwent surgery.

In his absence, the Gunners bolstered their attack with summer signings Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres, and Eberechi Eze.

However, Jesus signaled his imminent return on Sunday after posting a video of himself training on grass. Sharing his excitement, he wrote: “It’s been seven months of pain, uncertainty, and anxiety. Today, I finally feel light, like a child playing football again. GOD IS GREAT.”

The news comes as further relief for Arsenal, following reports that injuries sustained by Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard during Saturday’s clash with Leeds are not as serious as initially feared.
