Garnacho, who left United during the summer transfer window after falling out with Amorim, will make his first appearance back at Old Trafford in Chelsea colors. The Argentine forward forced a move to Stamford Bridge following a breakdown in his relationship with the United boss after the club’s Europa Cup final defeat to Tottenham in May.
Since joining Chelsea, the 20-year-old attacker has gradually been integrated into the squad, making substitute appearances in the Premier League against Brentford and in the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. Reports suggest he could start against his former club this weekend.
However, Amorim made it clear that he has no interest in discussing the Argentine’s return.
“Garnacho is no longer our player. I’m focused on Manchester United’s players. I’m very happy to have Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha back. For anything else, speak to Chelsea’s coach,” Amorim told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
Manchester United are currently 14th in the Premier League and will be desperate to secure their second league victory of the season when they host Chelsea at Old Trafford.
