Eight abducted Nasarawa varsity students regain freedom

The abducted eight students of the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, have been set free by their captors.

The students who lived outside the campus were kidnapped on December 6, 2023, when gunmen stormed the Gandu community

A community leader in the Keana Local Government Area of the state, Spencer Jerry, confirmed the students’ release.

He disclosed that they arrived in Kwarra village at about 8 pm on Sunday.

Upon their arrival, the students were transferred to Lafia by police operatives attached to the anti-kidnapping unit

The District Head of Gandu community, located opposite the university, Abdullahi Mohammed, also confirmed their release.

He also implored the state government to ensure that security agencies investigate, arrest, and prosecute those causing unrest in the university community and the state at large.
