EFCC Seeks Chinese National Over Alleged Fraud in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared 40-year-old Chinese citizen Peiyuan Niu wanted in connection with an alleged fraud case.

The commission stated on its official X account on Tuesday that Niu is being investigated for allegedly obtaining money under false pretences. His last known address was listed as 111, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos State.

In a notice signed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the public was urged to provide information that could lead to Niu’s arrest.

“The public is hereby informed that Peiyuan Niu, whose image appears above, is wanted by the EFCC in an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence,” the statement read.

The commission asked anyone with knowledge of Niu’s location to contact its offices in major cities including Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, and Abuja.

Members of the public can also report tips via the EFCC hotline at 08093322644, or through the nearest police station or security agency.
