DR Congo Fires Back at Super Eagles, Labels World Cup Protest ‘Bad Loser’ Move

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has hit back at Nigeria over the ongoing dispute surrounding qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The DRC Leopards defeated the Super Eagles 4-3 on penalties in the African playoff final held in Rabat last month. Following the loss, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) lodged a petition seeking to disqualify the Leopards, alleging that they fielded several ineligible players.

Responding to the NFF’s claims, the DRC took to their official X handle with a sharp message.

“If you can’t win on the pitch, don’t try to win from the back door,” they wrote. “The World Cup must be contested with dignity and confidence, not through legal maneuvers. Bring it on!”
