Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has gone viral after surprising a female fan with a total of ₦6 million, sparking a social media frenzy over spontaneous celebrity cash giveaways in Nigeria.

It all began on Thursday when a trending challenge on X.com (formerly Twitter) encouraged users to tag their favorite celebrities for a chance to receive ₦1 million. A user named Adeyemi Adejoke Abidemi, posting as #PopoolaJoke4, tagged Don Jazzy, saying:
“Make I tag #DONJAZZY. I dey always dream about him. Happy new month sir.”

The Mavin Records boss promptly replied: “Akant namba,” prompting her to share her GTBank details. Minutes later, Adeyemi posted a screenshot showing a ₦1 million credit alert from Don Jazzy, writing:
“Jesuuuuuusssssssss, this is huge. Thank you so much for your incredible generosity.”

However, the real shocker came when Don Jazzy noticed her previous account balance was only ₦67.29. Moved by her financial state, he added another ₦5 million, making it a total of ₦6 million.

“Amen ooo. That your akant balance is not healthy. I don add another 5 million. More blessings ma,” Don Jazzy wrote.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Adeyemi responded:
“I am deeply grateful for this extraordinary blessing. May God continue to enlarge your coast, #DONJAZZY.”

In a follow-up, she silenced skeptics who doubted her account status:
“None of my accounts get 1 naira… only GTBank get 67 naira.”

Meanwhile, another Nigerian artist, Shallipopi, also joined the generosity wave. While promoting his latest album, the “Obapluto” crooner gifted ₦1 million each to two fans who engaged with his posts.

One fan, Samuel Uchechukwu Ifesinachi, lamented his inability to afford a speaker for Shallipopi’s new music. The singer replied:
“Imma send u a million if you promise to get yourself a very big JBL.” He later confirmed the transaction with a posted receipt.

Another fan, Anirah Gabriel, referenced a past chat with the singer and jokingly asked to be “shocked” with ₦1 million. Shallipopi obliged, requesting his account details and sending the money shortly after.

The viral giveaways have stirred massive admiration online, with users applauding both Don Jazzy and Shallipopi for their generosity, setting a new trend for celebrity-fan engagement in Nigeria’s digital space.
