Dismissed Nun Claims Possession of Proof of Sexual Harassment by Catholic Priest

A dismissed Catholic nun, Rev. Sr. Anastasia Kinse, has claimed that she possesses evidence showing she was sexually harassed by a priest, though she has chosen not to make it public.
Speaking during an interview on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television, on Monday, Kinse alleged that her dismissal from Veritas University in Abuja, where she worked under the Auchi Catholic Diocese, was linked to her attempts to expose alleged sexual misconduct within the Church.
“I find it amusing when people ask for evidence,” she said. “It’s not as if the proof doesn’t exist—it does. I have both video and audio recordings showing where the Head of Department at Veritas harassed me. But I can’t just put them out there.”
Kinse explained that she joined the Congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters in 2015 and began to experience disturbing incidents involving some priests soon after.
She said she had consistently reported her experiences to her Superior-General and the Bishop but was often dismissed as being “too complainant.”
“One priest I lived in the same compound with once tried to touch me when I entered his room,” she recounted. “When I told my superior, I was advised to ignore it.”
She further narrated that another priest had invited her to accompany him to his parish for a week in 2016, which she declined, while a different priest once placed his belt around her waist, claiming he wanted to know her size before buying her clothes.
According to Kinse, the repeated harassment and the lack of action from Church authorities caused her deep emotional trauma—an ordeal that was later described as “madness” by those who dismissed her.
The Church has yet to issue an official response to her allegations.
