Delta Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Woman for Fatal Stabbing of Live-In Partner

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old woman identified as Bina for allegedly stabbing her 34-year-old live-in partner to death during a heated quarrel.

Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident in a video posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday.

According to him, Bina had been living with the deceased since the age of 17 and bore him two children. She confessed to the crime during interrogation, admitting that the altercation escalated, leading her to stab the man in the chest.

Edafe described the situation as disturbing, raising concerns about societal neglect and parental responsibility.
He said: “Now she had a fight with him, stabbed him in the heart and killed him. Who do you blame? The girl, the society, or her parents who gave her out at 17 without bride price? Her English is fluent, yet she stopped schooling at SS2.”

The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
