Delta Police Arrest 10 Suspected Drug Dealers, Seize Large Cache of Illicit Substances in Agbor Hotel Raid

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 10 suspected drug peddlers following a successful raid on a hotel along the Asaba–Benin Expressway in Agbor.

The operation, carried out on September 13, 2025, was led by the Eagle-Net Special Squad Commander, SP Danyaya Yunusa, in collaboration with the Nigeria Hunters Forest Security Services (NHFSS).

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the joint team acted on credible intelligence and stormed the hotel, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Among those apprehended was Markwuye Peter, the identified owner of the hotel. Police disclosed that a significant quantity of illicit drugs was recovered during the operation.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue to uncover the full scope of their activities and possible connections to wider drug trafficking networks.

Authorities have assured residents that the crackdown on criminal elements remains a top priority in the state.
