Afrobeats superstar Davido has earned widespread praise after a viral video captured him asking his friends to stop smoking during his wedding ceremony out of respect for his father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke.
In the clip circulating on social media, Davido is seen addressing his groomsmen — including his cousin B-Red and singer Zlatan Ibile — ahead of his father’s arrival.
“My daddy is coming, if you’re smoking, off it,” Davido told the group, prompting many online to commend him for his display of respect and family values.
The gesture took place during Davido’s much-anticipated white wedding with wife Chioma in Miami over the weekend.
Adding to the day’s significance, Pastor Joseph Adebisiola and two other priests who officiated the ceremony were the same clerics who presided over the wedding of Davido’s parents years ago.
