The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, from N850 to N820 per litre.

The price cut, which took effect on August 12, 2025, was confirmed in a statement by Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, and on the company’s official X (formerly Twitter) page.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit by N30, from N850 to N820 per litre, effective 12th August 2025. As part of our unwavering commitment to national development, we assure the public of a consistent and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products,” the statement read in part.

In addition to the petrol price reduction, the refinery revealed plans to commence the phased rollout of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks on August 15, 2025. These trucks will be used for nationwide fuel distribution, underscoring Dangote Refinery’s commitment to operational excellence, sustainable energy, and reduced carbon emissions in the petroleum supply chain.

The move is expected to ease fuel costs, enhance product availability, and promote cleaner energy transportation across Nigeria.
