Dangote Cement Plc has strengthened its human capital base with the absorption of nearly 200 newly trained engineers and professionals following the successful completion of its 18-month Graduate Trainee Programme.

The recruits, selected from fields including engineering, finance, information technology and related disciplines, passed through a rigorous training framework that blended classroom instruction at the Dangote Academy with practical exposure across the company’s four cement plants and its corporate headquarters.

In a statement, the company disclosed that many of the graduates have already been deployed into key operational roles in Nigeria and across other African markets, where they are being groomed for future leadership responsibilities within the group.

Speaking at the induction ceremony, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Arvind Pathak, said the event was designed to recognise both the new entrants and experienced staff whose commitment has driven the company’s growth. He commended employees for remaining focused despite economic headwinds, noting that Dangote Cement delivered a solid performance in 2025 in a challenging business climate.

Pathak reaffirmed the company’s position as Africa’s largest cement producer, adding that it is working towards a production capacity of 90 million metric tonnes per year by 2030. He also highlighted Dangote Cement’s role in turning Nigeria into a net exporter of cement to neighbouring countries.

The Acting Group Human Resources Officer, Ahmed Ladan Gobir, described the Graduate Trainee Programme as a long-term investment in youth development, stressing that empowering young Nigerians with globally competitive skills remains a core priority for the company.

In addition to the induction, Dangote Cement honoured outstanding staff members with Long Service and Hall of Fame awards, celebrating employees who have spent a minimum of five years with the company and demonstrated exceptional performance and leadership.

Four graduate trainees also received special recognition for outstanding projects, including initiatives focused on plant efficiency, equipment alignment, and the deployment of management information systems at the Obajana and Okpella plants.
