Cristiano Ronaldo delivers ‘inspiring’ first words as new signing of Al Nassr

December 31,2022

Cristiano Ronaldo is officially the newest signing of Saudi Arabia club Al Nassr, putting pen to paper on Friday.

Ronaldo, 37, becomes the highest-paid soccer player in the world with his two-and-a-half-year, $200 million deal.

The Portuguese, who could double his earnings with image rights, said that the vision Al Nassr showed him is “very inspiring.”

“I’m thrilled for a new experience in a different league and a different country, the vision that Al Nassr has is very inspiring,” Ronaldo said. “I’m very excited to join my teammates, and to help the team to achieve more success.”

Ronaldo is expected to play a huge role in the Saudi bid for the 2030 World Cup

Where will CR7 go next?

Now that Ronaldo’s career at the top flight of the sport is essentially over, it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up in a couple of years.

CR7 could just live out the next five years getting paid tons of money in the Middle East or Asia, but the competition won’t fulfil him

If he joins Major League Soccer (MLS), Ronaldo will be closer to the business world, where he’ll likely go to after retiring.

Whatever happens, it’s safe to say that Ronaldo — winner of five Ballon d’Or awards and five UEFA Champions League trophies — has nothing left to prove as one of the greatest to ever play soccer
