A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Noman’s Land, Kano, has ordered the remand of several students in a juvenile correctional facility over their alleged involvement in the gruesome killing of a teacher whose eyes were gouged out.

The suspects were arraigned before Magistrate Hauwa Abdulkadir on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy and murder.

According to the police charge sheet, the horrifying incident took place in Center Abuja village, Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.

Investigators allege that on April 22, the defendants conspired to abduct and kill the teacher before mutilating his body, removing his eyes and other organs in the process.

The prosecution further claimed that the suspects allegedly raised ₦800,000 to hire a group of youths to execute the crime.

During Tuesday’s proceedings, prosecuting counsel Barrister Salma Garba sought an adjournment to enable the police complete their investigations and present additional evidence before the court.

Magistrate Abdulkadir granted the request and adjourned the case to November 13 for continuation of hearing and defense arguments.
