Irish UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been handed an 18-month suspension after violating the UFC’s Anti-Doping Policy for missing three drug tests within a 12-month period.
The UFC announced the sanction on Tuesday, confirming that McGregor failed to appear for three biological sample collections in 2024, constituting a breach of the organization’s anti-doping regulations.
According to the statement, the standard 24-month ban was reduced to 18 months in recognition of McGregor’s full cooperation with the Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) investigation.
McGregor’s suspension, which officially began on September 20, 2024, will run until March 20, 2026—making him eligible to return to competition shortly before a high-profile UFC event scheduled at the White House.
The upcoming event, set for June 14, 2026, was recently confirmed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who revealed it will coincide with his 80th birthday celebration.
McGregor’s anticipated return fight is already generating major buzz, with fans eager to see the former two-division champion step back into the Octagon after his extended hiatus.
