A senior church leader in Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has alleged that armed attackers invaded a hospital in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, abducted several female patients, and subjected Christian victims to sexual assault before releasing them.

In a video shared on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Rev. Dachomo — Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) — claimed the gunmen arrived late in the evening, armed with rifles and other dangerous weapons, and forcibly took young women receiving treatment at the facility into a nearby rocky area.

According to him, the assault occurred on Saturday, October 17, and lasted for hours. He further alleged that the attackers separated Christian victims from Muslim victims, who were reportedly not abused.

One of the survivors, speaking with Rev. Dachomo in the footage, recounted the trauma they endured and how they eventually found their way back to the hospital around midnight, where medical staff immediately attended to them.

Rev. Dachomo also stated that the wife of a pastor, Rev. Zephaniah Mangut, was abducted in a separate incident on the same day.

He condemned the attacks and called on authorities to protect vulnerable communities and ensure justice for the victims.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies had not issued an official statement confirming the incident or responding to the allegations.
