Chelsea Slash Christopher Nkunku Price Amid Transfer Interest from Bundesliga, Serie A, and Premier League Clubs

London, July 22, 2025 – Chelsea have reportedly reduced their asking price for French forward Christopher Nkunku as interest grows across Europe ahead of the summer transfer deadline. The Blues are now open to selling the 27-year-old for around €50 million (£43.4 million) — a notable drop from the £52 million they paid RB Leipzig just two years ago.

Nkunku recently played a key role in Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup triumph, scoring in the knockout stages against Benfica and featuring in all six victories. Despite this, his long-term future at Stamford Bridge appears uncertain, particularly with Chelsea actively pursuing RB Leipzig’s highly-rated playmaker Xavi Simons.

Nkunku Transfer Interest Grows Across Europe

According to The Athletic, Chelsea are willing to accept reduced bids for Nkunku, prompting interest from multiple top-flight clubs in the Premier League, Bundesliga, and Serie A. Bayern Munich have been specifically mentioned as one of the clubs monitoring the situation closely.

Though Nkunku has struggled with injuries and consistency in England, he still boasts a respectable record of 18 goals and 5 assists in 62 appearances across all competitions since joining the Blues.

Why Chelsea Are Open to Selling Nkunku

Chelsea’s decision to lower their valuation comes amid a wider strategy to balance the books. The club has invested heavily in recent transfer windows and was recently fined by UEFA for breaching financial regulations. However, the West London side has also generated significant income in recent months:

  • £85m to £90m from winning the 2025 Club World Cup
  • £75m+ raised from the sales of Djordje Petrovic and Noni Madueke

More player exits are expected as Chelsea’s leadership, led by co-owner Todd Boehly, seeks to strengthen the club’s financial health and streamline the squad.

Nkunku, who is under contract until 2029, could now be a high-value acquisition for clubs looking to bolster their attacking options at a discounted fee.
