Residents of Nkwagu community in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have been thrown into fear and distress after three toddlers were allegedly abducted by guests lodged by a landlord in the area.
The victims—two baby boys and a one-year-old girl—were reportedly taken in the early hours of Saturday from a residential compound situated directly opposite a Nigerian Army barracks, raising serious security concerns.
Sources within the community disclosed that the suspects posed as overnight visitors before carrying out the act, fueling suspicions of an organised child-trafficking ring. The incident has left parents and residents deeply shaken, with calls for urgent intervention by security agencies.
Authorities are expected to commence investigations as the community demands swift action to rescue the children and bring those responsible to justice.
