BREAKING: Masked DSS Operatives, Soldiers Take Over Venue Of Peaceful Protest In Abuja After Police Attacked Civilian Protesters

At least six vehicles loaded with masked operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken over the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja where the #Endbadgovernance protest started on Saturday.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that hundreds of civilian protesters were attacked and raided from the venue by lawless operatives of the Nigerian police.
The protesters and journalists had assembled calmly before the police violently disrupted them with teargas canisters on Saturday morning.
“Six vehicles loaded with DSS and soldiers have chased away the peaceful protesters. This is the brand of democracy Bola Tinubu has given to Nigerians.
“Everywhere is tense and the DSS operatives are loading their rifles and threatened to fire at anyone who continues the protest,” a witness told SaharaReporters
Human rights activist and convener of Revolution Now movement, Omoyele Sowore, also confirmed the violent attack on the protesters by the Nigerian police.
Protesters have kept going after the #Endbadgovernance protest commenced on August 1.
There have been recent instances of clampdown on protesters by police in the federal capital territory, a situation that has led to condemnations and concerns expressed by major stakeholders in the country
Earlier, the protesters defied all odds marching to the Eagles Square on day 1 of the protests, after some protesters who had gone to the Eagle Square were attacked by Police who fired tear gas.
The #Endbadgovernance protests seek an end to inflation, food inflation and rising cost of living and has continued up till day 3 of the protest.
Although the government has said the protest is sponsored, it has been unable to substantiate its claims.
