BBNaija Star Phyna Slams Dangote Group for Negligence, Accuses Company of Insensitivity Over Sister’s Death

Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has publicly accused Dangote Group of negligence and insensitivity in connection with the death and burial of her sister, Ruth Otabor.
Taking to Instagram, the reality star alleged that her sister’s death was not only tragic but appeared “calculated and planned.” She further criticized the company for failing to cover all medical and burial expenses despite earlier public statements claiming otherwise.
According to Phyna, Dangote Group only settled hospital bills at Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, leaving her family to pay additional medical expenses incurred in Auchi and Irrua.
“The bills from Auchi to Irrua were completely handled by the family, and no refunds have been made,” Phyna wrote.
She also alleged that on September 13, the day of Ruth’s burial, repeated calls to Dangote Group went unanswered.
“Dangote Group claimed they covered all expenses, but on the burial day, calls to them were ignored. We were told the bills were unpaid, yet they insisted otherwise,” she revealed.
Phyna further shared a letter reportedly issued by Dangote Group and addressed to her father, demanding him to sign an acknowledgment of receipt for burial expenses. She accused the company of impersonation, insisting that the family should have been contacted directly for such a document.
“This letter sent to my dad this evening is painful. @dangotegroup, you killed my sister, did massive PR, gave money for burial, then drafted an acknowledgement letter in my father’s name and sent it to him to sign. This is pure manipulation,” Phyna claimed.
She questioned why a company of Dangote Group’s magnitude would, according to her, engage in dishonest actions instead of handling the situation with transparency and respect.
