As security operations intensify in Kwara State, a group of bandits has reportedly issued a warning of imminent attacks on three communities in Oyun Local Government Area.
The communities at risk include Ira, Inaja, and Aho, according to a letter allegedly issued by a group calling itself the Nigeria Terrorists Association. The letter, reportedly found at the Ira market area, has caused alarm among residents and prompted heightened readiness by security agencies.
The group claimed to have moved from Kaiama in the northern senatorial district to Oyun in the south and warned that the attacks could occur at any time.
Security sources confirmed that the Nigerian Army’s Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Ilemona is actively patrolling the threatened areas, alongside other security personnel, to prevent any incident.
Earlier, security forces successfully repelled a bandit attack on Share, the headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area, after about an hour of gunfire exchange, with no reported casualties or abductions.
