Armed bandits on Sunday morning attacked a mosque in Dansadau, Zamfara State, abducting several worshippers who had gathered for Subhi (early morning) prayers.

The incident, shared by security analyst Bakatsine on his verified X handle, highlights the growing insecurity across the Northwest region.

According to his report, the Zamfara attack occurred while residents were observing dawn prayers, leaving many missing.

In a separate incident around 6 a.m. the same day, bandits also invaded Wakeh village in Kaduna State, where they reportedly killed and injured residents.

Bakatsine lamented the rising wave of violence in the region, stating that communities in the Northwest remain under siege from escalating attacks.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have not issued an official statement regarding the incidents or the number of victims involved.

The latest attacks add to the growing list of violent assaults on communities, places of worship, and farmlands across northern Nigeria, fueling concerns over safety and the government’s response to banditry.
