Bandits Invade Sokoto Community, Kill Village Head and Resident in Midnight Attack

Armed bandits have struck Sayinna village in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing the traditional leader and another resident in a midnight assault.
According to security reports, the attack occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, when heavily armed gunmen, suspected to be members of the Lakurawa gang, stormed the community and opened fire on residents.
Those killed were identified as Murtala Sa’adu, the 47-year-old village head, and another villager, Ibrahim Mai-Kudi.
After carrying out the assault, the attackers escaped into nearby bushes before security forces arrived.
Troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA were immediately deployed to the scene, evacuated the victims to a hospital, and have since intensified patrols in the area to forestall further attacks.
