“Ballon d’Or 2025: Rashford Backs Yamal, Raphinha, Dembele as Top Contenders”

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Barcelona, has named three players he believes are strong contenders for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Speaking about this year’s nominees, Rashford backed his Barcelona teammates Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, alongside French winger Ousmane Dembélé, as players deserving of the prestigious award.

“[Ousmane] Dembélé, Raphinha, they all deserve it,” Rashford said. “It’s hard to pick one, but they’ve all been mature and had a fantastic season. Lamine is so young that he is sure to win it. He’s a top talent, a top player.”

All three — Dembele, Yamal, and Raphinha — are among the 30-man shortlist for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, following standout campaigns in Europe.

The annual Ballon d’Or ceremony will crown the world’s best footballer based on performances across club and international football in the past season.
