Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have lodged a formal complaint with UEFA after being left without access to hot water at the Emirates Stadium following their final training session ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League showdown with Arsenal.
According to Marca, Diego Simeone’s squad arrived at the stadium around 5:30 p.m. for their scheduled training session on a cold, rainy London evening. However, after completing their drills, the players discovered that the showers had no hot water, forcing them to return to their hotel to freshen up.
Despite promptly notifying Arsenal’s staff about the problem, the issue reportedly remained unresolved by the time the session ended.
Atletico officials expressed disappointment and disbelief, stating that such a situation was unacceptable for a world-class facility like the Emirates, particularly during a UEFA competition.
The club has since submitted an official protest to UEFA, demanding that the incident be investigated and proper standards maintained ahead of matchday.
