Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition will remain steadfast in defending Nigerians against what he described as the anti-democratic forces of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Atiku, who made the remarks in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said the coalition is committed to rescuing Nigeria’s democracy from emerging dictatorship under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We will be unrelenting in defending the rights of every Nigerian being harassed by anti-democratic forces of the Tinubu-led APC administration. This was my assurance to Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, today,” Atiku wrote.
The former Vice President gave the assurance during separate meetings with Sokoto South Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
According to Atiku, the coalition’s agenda is to rescue Nigeria’s democratic institutions from the stranglehold of dictatorship while protecting citizens from intimidation and political persecution.
Atiku’s comments come amid growing concerns over governance, opposition crackdowns, and allegations of rising authoritarian tendencies under the Tinubu administration.
