Arsenal Beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in Emirates Cup to End Preseason on a High

Arsenal wrapped up their 2025/26 pre-season campaign in style with a 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Emirates Cup on Saturday.
The win was a timely response for Mikel Arteta’s side after back-to-back defeats against Tottenham Hotspur and Villarreal in earlier friendlies.
The Gunners made a strong start at the Emirates Stadium, with Viktor Gyökeres and Bukayo Saka finding the net in the first half. Gyökeres opened the scoring with a well-placed header from Martin Zubimendi’s pinpoint cross, before Saka doubled the lead by slotting into an empty net after being set up by Gabriel Martinelli.
In the second half, returning from a minor injury, Kai Havertz came off the bench to seal the win with a brilliant solo run and powerful finish, making it 3-0.
Arsenal will now shift focus to their Premier League opener next Sunday — a blockbuster clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
