Head coach of the Brazil national football team, Carlo Ancelotti, has revealed details of his conversation with Vinicius Junior following the player’s emotional outburst during Real Madrid’s El Clasico victory over Barcelona.

Vinicius had reacted angrily after being substituted by Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso in the 72nd minute of the clash, with Los Blancos leading 2–1 at the time. The forward’s frustration was clear as he voiced his displeasure on the touchline before returning to the bench.

The 25-year-old later issued a public apology to Alonso, his teammates, supporters, and the club, admitting that his behaviour was unacceptable.

Reacting to the incident, Ancelotti, who previously managed Vinicius at Real Madrid, said he had a private discussion with the winger and told him his actions were out of line.

“I spoke to Vinícius about what happened during El Clásico with Xabi Alonso,” Ancelotti told The TouchlineX. “I told him he made a mistake. He understood, apologized, and the matter is now resolved.”

The incident has since been put behind both parties, with Vinicius expected to rejoin Brazil’s squad ahead of their upcoming international fixtures.
