The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension of the ongoing Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection exercise in Anambra State. The new deadline has been shifted to November 2 to allow more eligible voters to obtain their PVCs ahead of the governorship election.
This update was issued in a statement by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, the Director of Voter Education and Publicity for INEC in Anambra, on Monday in Awka.
She explained that the decision followed a meeting held by the Commission on October 27, after receiving multiple appeals from residents and key stakeholders requesting more time for voters yet to collect their cards.
Eta-Messi urged all registered voters who participated in the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to seize the extended window and visit designated collection points across the 326 Registration Areas (Wards) in the state.
She added that collection must be done personally, noting that the Commission will not permit any form of proxy collection.
