AFCON 2025: Yakubu Aiyegbeni warns of tough clash as Nigeria prepare to face Tunisia

Former Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, has described Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) match against Tunisia as a “challenging encounter.”
The Super Eagles will meet the North African side in their second Group C fixture on Saturday, following a 2-1 win over Tanzania in their opening game. Tunisia also started the tournament strongly with a 3-1 victory against Uganda, placing both teams at three points each at the top of the group.
Commenting after Nigeria’s narrow win over the Taifa Stars, Aiyegbeni told reporters in Morocco, “We were lucky today against Tanzania. They had chances to seal the game, but we managed to get the win. Facing Tunisia will not be easy; it will be a tough match.”
The Nigeria vs Tunisia game is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 pm Nigerian time.
