Uganda Cranes forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe has expressed confidence that his team can pull off a surprise victory against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their final group match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Coach Paul Put’s side will take on the highly rated Nigerians on Tuesday in Fès, needing a win to keep their hopes alive for a spot in the Round of 16. Uganda has only managed two points from their first two matches against Tunisia and Tanzania.
Nigeria, on the other hand, will aim to secure their third win of the AFCON 2025 tournament.
Ahimbisibwe said the Cranes are prepared and motivated to challenge their opponents. “We expect a strong match against Nigeria. We believe in ourselves, have the right mindset, and will give our best to win,” he told reporters.
