Former Super Eagles media officer Peterside Idah has revealed that head coach Eric Chelle may be set to leave his role after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, following an enticing offer from Tunisia.
According to Idah, the North African nation has proposed a monthly salary of $100,000 to secure Chelle’s services. The news comes as the Super Eagles prepare for their final AFCON match—a third-place playoff against Egypt on Saturday.
Idah added that beyond the lucrative financial package, the prospect of leading a team that has already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup could also influence Chelle’s decision.
Speaking to Channels TV, Idah said: “I hear he wants to go to Tunisia. They have offered him $100,000 per month. Not just that, he will make a name for himself as the coach of a World Cup team.”
