Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been recognized as the most effective attacking team during the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

According to the official CAF website, the Super Eagles topped Group C with nine points, scoring eight goals—the highest in the tournament—from 21 shots, 10 of which were on target.

Coach Eric Chelle’s side also recorded the highest average possession at 66 per cent, reflecting a team that successfully combined control of the game with clinical finishing.

The attacking lineup features top talents such as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Paul Onuachu, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, and Chidera Ejuke, whose performances have been key to Nigeria’s dominance in the group stage.

Nigeria will face Mozambique’s Mambas in the Round of 16 clash scheduled for Monday, as they aim to maintain their attacking momentum into the knockout rounds.
