Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has praised teammate Ademola Lookman after the winger starred in Nigeria’s commanding 4-0 victory over Mozambique at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Lookman continued his stellar run in the tournament, registering a goal and three assists against the Mambas, earning him the Man of the Match award for the second time in the competition.
Bassey commended the Atalanta forward’s influence on the team’s dominant performance. “Yeah, he (Lookman) was good, he was amazing. I think he played with so much quality. You could have singled out any one of the boys,” Bassey told Soccernet.ng.
Lookman’s outstanding display earned him a place in the AFCON 2025 Team of the Group Stage. The 28-year-old has now contributed to eight goals for the Super Eagles in Morocco, highlighting his pivotal role in Nigeria’s attacking setup.
