The Abia State House of Assembly has expressed full support for the economic and job creation policies introduced by Governor Alex Otti’s administration, reaffirming its commitment to promoting local enterprise and attracting foreign investment into the state.
The endorsement was made by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, on Tuesday when lawmakers hosted the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Jerome Green-Amakwe, at the Assembly complex in Umuahia.
Green-Amakwe was at the Assembly to seek legislative backing for the upcoming Abia–Türkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition, scheduled to hold later this month.
Speaker Emeruwa assured that the Assembly would continue to support every initiative aimed at boosting the state’s economy, creating jobs, and improving the standard of living for residents.
“All government policies designed to strengthen Abia’s economy and create employment opportunities will always enjoy our full support,” he said.
In his remarks, Green-Amakwe commended the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislative arms, noting that it had contributed to the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed in the state.
He added that the partnership with the Turkish government would open new channels for trade, technology transfer, and industrial growth while helping to showcase Abia’s investment potential on the global stage.
“The upcoming summit will create a platform for investment exchange between Abia and Türkiye, paving the way for new business opportunities and employment for our people,” he said.
