A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has declared his readiness to support whoever emerges as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.

Momodu said he would wholeheartedly work for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party leader Peter Obi, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, or ex-Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, should any of them clinch the ADC presidential ticket.

The veteran journalist made this known during an interview on Politics HQ, a programme aired on News Central.

According to him, his loyalty lies firmly with the ADC rather than any individual aspirant, stressing that personal relationships would not override party decisions.

Momodu revealed that he maintains close ties with all the mentioned political figures, noting that he shares long-standing mutual respect with Peter Obi, whom he has interacted with both in Nigeria and abroad.

He explained that if the ADC leadership settles for any of the aspirants, he would deploy all his resources and influence to ensure their success at the polls.

Speaking on Atiku Abubakar, Momodu expressed displeasure over criticisms often directed at the former vice president, reminding Nigerians that Atiku once provided Peter Obi with a national platform during the 2019 presidential election.

He emphasized that Atiku and Obi are not political adversaries, adding that both leaders continue to maintain cordial relations. According to Momodu, Atiku remains a committed democrat who harbours no ill feelings toward anyone.
