Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has declared that he and other opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, have the political capacity to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, El-Rufai said his involvement in the formation of the APC gives him insider knowledge of the party’s vulnerabilities.
“We formed the APC; we know where the dead body is buried. Some of them, like Atiku, know where the PDP’s dead body is buried. Together, we can face APC. We don’t need to bring people from nowhere to challenge the ruling party,” he said.
El-Rufai further criticized Tinubu’s administration, lamenting that both the economy and security situation in the country have worsened under his leadership.
It was recently reported that El-Rufai, Atiku, former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, and other political heavyweights have aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a new opposition coalition aimed at unseating President Tinubu in 2027.
