Renowned activist and co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has called for severe punishment, including capital measures, against individuals involved in election rigging ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yesufu made the statement on Friday via her verified X (formerly Twitter) account, supporting Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s recent remarks warning those planning to manipulate electoral outcomes to “write their wills.”

She emphasized that election manipulation undermines democracy and should be viewed as a direct attack on the nation, equating it to acts of terrorism.

“That thing Alex Otti said — that anyone planning to rig elections should first write their will — is exactly the mindset Nigerians must adopt!
I’ve always said anyone who rigs elections should be treated as a terrorist,” she posted.

Yesufu, known for her bold stance on governance and accountability, maintained that electoral malpractice is the root cause of bad leadership and national instability, insisting that only harsh consequences will deter offenders.
