2027: Amaechi Pledges Support for ADC Presidential Candidate on One Condition

Story:
Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that he will fully back the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate in the 2027 general election—but only if the party’s primaries are conducted in a free and fair manner.
Speaking during an X Space discussion tagged Weekend Politics, Amaechi said he is committed to supporting the ADC in its bid to unseat President Bola Tinubu and the current administration, which he described as “clueless.”
“In a free and fair primary, whoever wins will have my full support. I will be deeply devoted to the campaign and will do everything in my ability to help ADC unseat this government,” Amaechi stated.
The former governor of Rivers State also criticized the ongoing coastal road project, alleging it was “for stealing,” and pledged to prioritize electoral reforms if elected president.
“Electoral reforms are the lowest hanging fruits for me. There will be electoral reforms in my first six months,” he added.
Political analysts believe that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi are among the heavyweights eyeing the ADC presidential ticket, setting the stage for a potentially heated primary contest.
