Super Eagles duo Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina have sent words of encouragement to Nigerians ahead of the national team’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and South Africa.
The Nigerian stars, who are part of the squad for this international window, appealed to fans to rally behind the team as they fight to secure a ticket to next year’s World Cup.
Speaking to the Super Eagles media team, Fulham midfielder Iwobi said:
“My message to Nigerians will be to continue supporting us. If you guys can believe in us and give us the energy that we need, we will go and get the result that we want to achieve—to go to the World Cup.”
On his part, Nottingham Forest defender Aina acknowledged the tough challenge ahead but assured fans of the team’s determination.
“A message to Nigerians is that we know it’s a tough task ahead of us, but we are ready for the challenge. So keep believing and supporting us,” he said.
The Super Eagles, coached by Eric Chelle, will face Rwanda on Saturday before taking on South Africa three days later in what promises to be a decisive window in the qualification race.
