The lineup of African nations heading to the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been officially confirmed, with Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal completing the continent’s nine automatic qualifying slots after Tuesday’s decisive matches.

Côte d’Ivoire sealed their place in emphatic style with a 3-0 win over Kenya, courtesy of goals from Franck Kessié, Yann Diomandé, and Amad Diallo. The victory marks the Elephants’ fourth World Cup appearance and their first since the 2014 tournament in Brazil.

In the same vein, Senegal’s Teranga Lions dominated Mauritania 4-0, overtaking DR Congo to finish top of Group B with 24 points — just one ahead of the Leopards, who now proceed to the playoff stage after defeating Sudan.

With these results, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal join Ghana, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Cape Verde, and Algeria as Africa’s nine representatives at the global showpiece.

This marks one of Africa’s strongest contingents ever, featuring former champions of multiple continental tournaments and some of the continent’s most in-form squads heading into North America 2026.
