BREAKING: Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price To ₦899.50 For Holiday Season

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), lowering it to ₦899.50 per litre. This move, aimed at easing the financial burden on Nigerians during the festive season, comes as welcome news to millions of consumers.

The privately-owned refinery had earlier reduced the price to ₦970 per litre on November 24 but has now gone further to slash it by ₦70.50. This initiative, the company stated on Thursday, is part of its effort to mitigate transport costs and bring relief during the holiday period.

In a statement issued by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, the company revealed a special offer accompanying the price reduction. For every litre of PMS purchased with cash, customers will be entitled to buy an additional litre on credit, provided they secure a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.

“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at ₦899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee,” Chiejina stated.

The refinery expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and reiterated its commitment to providing premium, competitively priced petroleum products that are both environmentally and engine-friendly.

Chiejina emphasized that Dangote Refinery’s operations have brought an end to Nigeria’s reliance on substandard, blended imported products, which previously posed severe risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.

With a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (BPD), Dangote Refinery is the largest single-train refinery in the world. The facility is capable of meeting 100% of Nigeria’s refined petroleum demands, with a surplus available for export.

This strategic decision by Dangote Refinery underscores its role as a game-changer in Nigeria’s petroleum industry, delivering relief and boosting the holiday spirit for millions of Nigerians.
