Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have successfully rescued 86 abducted persons and apprehended 29 individuals suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram militants during recent coordinated missions in Borno State.
The announcement was made on Sunday by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai. He said the rescue was carried out on November 9, 2025, by soldiers of the 135 Special Forces Battalion operating under Sector 2.
According to the report, troops intercepted Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters at Dutse Kura after receiving intelligence that insurgents were kidnapping civilians and seizing vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya road.
The soldiers engaged the terrorists, foiled the abduction, and chased the fleeing militants toward the Mangari axis. There, the troops overpowered the insurgents in a follow-up operation near a temporary hideout.
“During the clearance mission, troops uncovered eleven structures used by terrorists and rescued 86 abducted persons, including men, women, and children,” the statement said.
Recovered items included:

- Five magazines with 73 rounds
- Four PKT ammunition belts
- Five civilian vehicles
- Five motorcycles
- Eight bicycles
- Two logistics tricycles
The makeshift camp was destroyed after the rescue.
In a separate operation, soldiers stationed at Mangada arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers heading to Chilaria. They were intercepted with:
- Two pickup vans
- A tricycle
- About 1,000 litres of petrol in jerry cans
- Four gallons of engine oil
- Two brand-new gun truck tyres

The military leadership praised the bravery of the troops and encouraged them to maintain the pressure on insurgents to prevent terrorist activities across the North-East.
